History + Experience

I started my writing career as a Special Events assistant, developing event collateral, fundraising programs, brochures, direct mail pieces and newsletters. I didn’t know it was called “copy” then, I just loved the creative aspect involved—coming up with the right mix of words and images to tell a story and connect with different audiences.

When a colleague suggested a career as a Copywriter, I realized it was the perfect way to merge my lifelong love of art, literature, design and media that traced back to my earliest days staging photo shoots and creating greeting cards, record sleeves and short stories for family and friends. So I signed on with a small marketing firm specializing in education and finance and learned how to write copy that was sharp, succinct and evocative. That early exposure to the fundamentals of writing and design under a tough, but brilliant Creative Director prepared me for the road ahead—with future career stops as a Senior Copywriter for several ad agencies, design shops and PR firms in Atlanta. Eventually, it even led to my own creative partnership with an Art Director working with the likes of SPANX, Kimberly-Clark and SunTrust.

Along the way, I’ve become a more valuable creative asset to both clients and colleagues by asking smarter questions, collaborating with talented artists and working with passionate people who welcome innovation and creativity. And today, I’m still doing what I love most—telling great stories and creating memorable images.
